The evening kicked off with another Toronto-based artist.
Bad Child treated fans at the Coke Stage with his unique mix of electro/R & B/alternative grooves.
One can’t help but to be drawn in by his mesmerizing beats and soulful, heartfelt lyrics. It’s obvious Bad Child has a story or two to tell through his music, and he weaves those tales very well.
Then it was on to headliners; Mother Mother. This 5-piece Indie rock/new wave band from British Columba have made multiple appearances on the Calgary Stampede Coca-Cola Stage over the years, and it’s easy to see why.
Known for their unique vocal harmonies, courtesy of brother and sister, Ryan & Molly Guldemond, along with Jasmin Parkin, they had the packed crowd dancing and singing along to the various hits from their seven studio albums. The band also includes Ali Siadat (drums) and Mike Young (bass).
I’ve seen Mother Mother live a handful of times over the years, and they always put on a very pleasing and energetic live show.
