The Elwins are a four piece band from Keswick, Ontario. With Matthew Sweeney on guitar/vocals, Travis Stokl on drums, Feurd on guitar/keyboards, and Frankie Figliomeni on bass guitar. I’ve been a fan of these guys since their Play For Keeps album came out in 2015. So seeing them like was a real treat. Their sound to me is a mash up of surf, rock and roll, and a dash of 60’s boogie. Be prepared to move and dance around if you see them. Because their music is infectious, you can’t help yourself. The sound was great and everybody played phenomenally. I was certainly impressed.

When the Strumbellas came onto stage the crowd instantaneously came alive. The Strumbellas are a six piece band from Toronto, Ontario. With Simon Ward on vocals/guitar, David Ritter on vocals/keys, Jon Hembrey on lead guitar, Isabel Ritchie on violin, Darryl James on bass guitar, and Jeremy Drury on drums, these guys know how to put on a great show. I always say that if you can have the crowd singing, by the end of the song. Then you must be doing something right. They had the crowd singing by the first thirty seconds.

The Strumbellas can be described as folk blended with rock and roll. Their harmonies are on point, and they always look like they’re having a good time on stage. My hands were sore after the this show. It was a perfect blend of music. The whole crowd jumped and hopped to every song. Followed by constant clapping. The energy was the best part about this show, everybody was singing through the whole show, and overall having a great time.. I will see these guys again in the future.
